1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. That makes the i3+ a good option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it is full.
Both robots do well picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ does not feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It may be stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between surfaces, such as hardwood and rug.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or through the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpets to trap large dust and crumbs. It has three suction modes to suit the task at hand. It can quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.
The model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also provides easy access to 2 attachments as well as the Wand. This is a major improvement over previous Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's main drawback is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are not true, as CR's testing shows. This is a typical battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house however, it's not enough to get every single area (though the second time around usually can be effective). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of types of debris and sizes during our tests, and it often passes over the same areas multiple times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice feature.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models like our top picks, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. Because of this, it may get stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it frequently runs out of battery power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs, has more advanced automation abilities and is able to better maneuver itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges quicker.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistance. It is also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and can perform better on floors with low pile and bare.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

The app also makes it easy to steer the robot manually in the event of need. For example my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to cause confusion for other robots I've tried.
